I think Bush having a pair of shoes thrown at him was probably one of the most disgraceful events in American history. It must be really bad to have someone out right take a chance to assault a national leader. Bush seemed to handle this well, but from seeing the footage, I was somewhat concerned at the overall safety with this man having the ability to pull such an act. After reading several news reports regarding this journalist who committed this act, he has now become a celebrity in his country.
My former colleague asked should this man be punished? I said despite my personal views of Bush "yes he should". This was still an assault on a national leader and despite what one must personally feel about our soon to be ex-president, he still should not get "shoed"

Traffic
I have to commute to and from Waukesha daily for work. This is new for me. The day we had our first snow fall I saw several major collisions on the streets and highways as I challenged the black ice to get home safely. It seemed everyone accident they said on the news I had drove passed. This morning on my way to work was no exception. I was on the 94 West going toward Madison and after getting past Brookfield, this is where hell traffic began. The radio station reported several accidents and I rode past the three car collision on 94 West Madison and before seeing this I witnessed several cars driving way over the speed limit which it might have been one of the cars involved in the crash or caused it to happen. It is the day after a snow fall there are still areas of ice on the ground and pressing on the brakes can lead to skidouts. I am so upset that people don't value their lives enough to SLOW DOWN. I would rather take 30 minutes longer driving than never make it home at all... I recently just got over the woman I witnessed digging up her nose (ewww), the man I saw driving with his knees as he was using his hands to write something down on his steering wheel, and the every other person deeply committed to their telephone conversation as they focus more on their conversations than the road they are driving on.
The speeding in this weather has to stop! I have tolerated all the other things witnessed when driving which I have no control over, but I wish most of all that people would respect the snow and the roads so people can make it home. There is no such thing as a good driver in this mess even if you have a 4x4!!!
