OK, I was a little disappointed to see reports of Favre speaking to the Lions about well...whatever he spoke to them about. Favre is saying the conversation was very general and an ordinary conversation with a friend. There is a reporter saying that he has the story right and will stand by his story. How stupid is all of this? I don't like to think Favre would be sharing Packers intel. with the enemy but.....who cares????? The opposing teams can study film from any game, right? It makes me wonder why this is even a story. What's worse is that here I am now blogging about it!!! Is this how it is going to be from now on? Favre and Green Bay---always a controversy????

My favorite part of the Olympics was watching Shawn Johnson receive the gold for balance beam. She has a million mega watt smile and you can't help but like that kid!!! After all our trial and tribulations in Titletown recently the Olympics were a good reminder of athletes striving for their personal best and to honor their countries. What was your favorite Olympics moment?

Ok I was so excited that Favre was back in G.B., and now it looks like he will be traded. I'm so disappointed. I'm disappointed in the Packer's management that this was not handled better. I don't see why they did not welcome Favre back but it is evident from the beginning that Favre playing in G.B. was not on their agenda. I had just hoped that all parties involved would be able to get over the differences and make it work. I thought this was mostly about winning football games and I'm feeling like it has been mostly about egos. It makes me sick to think of Favre playing in Tampa or anywhere besides Green Bay. Geez!
I want Favre to be the Packer's starting quarterback but that doesn't look like that is going to happen. I just can't understand why the organization would want to get rid of a high caliber player like Favre--do they not watch ESPN? Because you can pretty much tell that they all think the Packer's organization are kinda dopey for even turning Brett away in the first place. I realize the guys at ESPN are not managing a NFL team, but maybe they should be! Anyway if they are going to trade him (Dopes!), then I hope they make the decision soon. Ted Thompson and Murphy better have one hell of a plan.

I am so happy that Favre is reinstated and back in WI. I've been grinning like a fool since I saw the footage of Favre's plane landing at the airport. It was so cool to see how many people turned out to greet him and I hope that sends a message to the Packer's management. Now the Packer's management have seemed to change their tune somewhat since the news of Favre's reinstatement broke. Instead of the hard line "we're moving in a different direction" now they are saying that Favre and Rodgers will compete for the starting job. So who else thinks they could have said that in the beginning of this whole mess and avoided alot of problems? I think competition for the job is fair and whomever is the best quarterback after the dust clears should get the job. However I'm hoping that it really is a competition and that the relationship between Favre and management is not so badly damaged that they can not co-exist. I gotta say that Murphy's press release sounded pretty bitter, and of course there is no way to come out of this drama with everyone smiley and loving each other. I don't care if they get along I just want them to win football games, and I would love to see Favre starting for another season in G.B!!!

You know, I have been so wrapped up in the continuing Favre saga and today when I turned on the news to get the latest on the Favre situation the first story I saw was the shooting deaths on the WI/MI border. What a scary, scary world we live in. This story breaks my heart and makes me hug my kids a little tighter before letting them out into this world. My prayers are with the families going through this horrible tragedy. Before I was a parent I liked to believe that no state had the right to sentence a criminal to die, with every new horrifying way people come up with to hurt and kill other people I am closer to believing that perhaps I do support the death penalty for these violent offenders. For example, take the psycho in Canada who just murdered a man sitting next to him on the bus. I don't care if he is truly a psycho, how does the judicial system even come close to punishing this man for the crime he has committed? What would be justice to the family of the victim, because I can sit here and say that I'm against the death penalty but would I feel differently had that been my husband, father, brother on that bus? What do you think?

Hey, Packer's management, are you kidding me? I'm beginning to think that these guys couldn't manage a cardboard box! I was actually starting to think I had been to harsh on the Packer's management when it looked like Favre was perhaps doing things not conducive to fair play( such as using a team cell phone to contact the Vikings, if that story was true). Then the dopes in management go and do something so stupid when it looks like Brett will report to training camp. If the reports are even somewhat true then Favre was offered $ to stay away from G.B. In any case we know that M.M. got on a plane right quick when the commissioner's office received Brett's request for re-instatement. HMMM, let's see, why did he feel the need to jump on a plane and get on down there to talk to Brett face to face? All this time they have been sitting here in WI saying not much other than their babble about Rodgers being the starter. Last night I was watching the NFL network and at least two of the guys basically said that the Packer's were pretty much foolish for not starting Favre or at least allowing him to compete with Rodgers for the job, Duh!!! It seems like the only people who DON'T know what the right thing to do here are the people who SHOULD know what the right thing to do is. I'm sick! sick! sick! of this drama that never needed to happen in the first place. Here we are with the pre-season closing in and nowhere near close to resolving this drama that threatens to over shadow the Packers whole season.

Ok, so now the NFL big guy, Goodall, has had to tell the Packers and Favre to wrap this up. Nice, like this wasn't already a huge dramatic mess. I really would have liked to see Favre start as quarterback in Green Bay but I guess that won't be happening-it seems that bridge has been burned. Favre will always be a legend here in Green Bay and in the NFL, but I have to wonder....will Favre be remembered the same way he would have if he had just stayed retired? Don't get me wrong I didn't want the guy to retire in the first place, but I really don't want him to play anywhere else either. I think that Favre's image and the Packers image will be effected by this whole debacle and it's too bad that had to happen. I guess win, lose, or draw nothing was ever easy with Favre but it was always exciting! I hate that the way he played the game may end up being over shadowed by the way his career ended in Green Bay.

Ok, now I've had enough. Is it time for training camp yet? Did I miss the memo? What the heck is going on? So the Packers are trying to find out what they will be able to get for Favre. I'm pretty much disgusted with the Packers and with Favre when it comes to this drama.

I know that everyone is feeling the pain at the pump and many people are faced with a rotten financial situation because of the gas prices and corresponding rises in food cost, oh, and let's not forget the mortgages that are becoming harder to pay every month. I know alot of people in a similiar situation and quite frankly the economy and every person talking on t.v. about it scares me. How are we supposed to make a living and do all the things we are supposed to do, much less pay for anything extra. Hope the car doesn't break down or the water heater go out, because who knows where that money will come from. What are other people thinking? Is there hope for our economy, or is it all doom and gloom until no one can afford to put gas in their cars to get to their jobs where they are probably underpaid and more than likely way underinsured. And how can the price of a barrel of oil go down and the price of gas stays about the same. It seems that if the price of oil goes up gas prices immediately skyrocket. What is up with that?
