I was out the other night and i seen so mean car and suv in the dich and hitting the middle wall. Seen a person hit a stop light and take it down and seen one and hurded about truckers jack knifed along 45 and I 43 . I thought we where Wisconson People here. Its not like we only get one snow fall a year...
People what is the hurry to get in the dich or hit some one or some thing . Slow down, TURN ON YOUR HEAD LIGHT
When my friend and I planned on hanging out Tuesday night I never would've imagined that we would be meeting at a tragic crash scene at the intersection of Willard Drive and S. Oneida Street in Green Bay. We had planned on meeting for coffee at Starbucks in Barnes and Noble but he called me to warn me of the accident along the way. I cautiously passed by the scene, parked and walked over to meet him. The police had lit up the area and the firefighters, police, and other individuals were still working at the scene piecing together what had happened. I was surprised by how many other spectators were there along with the news crews.
I had never seen anything like it before in my life. Maybe in the movies or on television but being there at the scene live with the crime scene tape, broken glass, damaged traffic light, two cars smashed into each other and knowing that two young women didn't survive was surreal. Honestly, it's hard to put into words. Overall, it made me realize many things but one being the reality of life and how 1 split second decision can affect so many. I hope drivers will learn from this fatal crash and hopefully this can be avoided in the future. They were still so young...
My prayers go out to the families of Ashley Britsch-Knetzger and Talhia Heroux. No words can really comfort you, I know. But please know that the community's prayers and wishes will always be with you.

I have an Infiniti FX 35 that gets 18 miles a gal, and Land Rover that gets 13 miles a gal, and a Jeep Cherokee that get around 17. The Infiniti is the best of the 3 on gas, but at 18 miles a gallon, at near $4 a gallon, I may as well drive a Sherman tank.
(This sounds like a country song, doesn’t it?)
The SUV trend that saved the American Car makers is quickly sending them to the grave. Because dealers are offering little for a SUV trade in, (because they can’t get rid of them) the remaining value leaves you upside down on your car loan. This balance is then placed on top of the already over priced fuel efficient cars loan, combined, you really don’t save any money.
Will the high price of gas put the final nail in the American car maker’s coffin, or force them to be more fuel efficient?
...not withstanding, why are all the hybrids so damn ugly?

Do you know how far your car can go on empty, TankOnEmpty.com can tell you. Of all the peculiar websites on the Internet, this one meets the demand of high gas prices.
I like the city and this state but our city streets are horrible. Did any one else notice all the potholes and bumps? I am sad to see the main streets of the city in such bad shape. We pay more taxes in this city than anywhere else and yet the city crews are overwhelmed with three inches of snow. They say they are overworked and running out of salt and sand. Our side streets are glare ice now with layers of ruts and slippery spots. The mayor is busy running around in a store with a shopping cart. I don't know what the city aldermen talk about downtown but maybe their heads got bumped so much they just sit there and try to unrattle their brains. We have paid our taxes another year so they got our money and its time for them to spend it. Could they fix a whole road and not all this little patch here and little patch there business that takes them all summer to do. If they need workers do what Lambeau Field does and pay them eight bucks an hour. You would get easily three hundred workers to fix the roads in a week!
more soon: got to go salt my sidewalk.
Although Wisconsinites are probably better at driving in the cold, ice, and snow, they still need to make sure they drive for the conditions. It may be annoying at the time but it will be better for you and the other drivers in the end.
I know two people, who I feel are good drivers, who got in accidents this week and I KNOW they are not the only ones. It's scary because, although it could've been much worse for them, in general accidents can be life changing. Whether it is the extra cost of car repair, higher insurance rates, or even taking pain medications, if accidents can be avoided by driving slower and stopping sooner then it's safer in the end.
So as my title states: "Please go SLOW in the SNOW!" :-)
Well it's getting to be that time of the year again. Time for those slippery roads.
I'm always amazed how many people that have lived in Wisconsin their whole life seem to forget how to drive in the winter. Of course they have an epiphany as they spin off into the ditch, or slide into the vehicle in front of them. But it's a little late at that point.
So everybody drive safe this winter. For those of you in those 4 wheel drives I'm happy that you can get going better than the rest of us, just remember it's the stopping part that gets you.
I'm all for supporting the American worker but lets try to give those guys at the auto body shops a little less to do this year.
The last time I put gas int he car it was $2.81 per gallon now as of today the price is $3.05 And the price of a barrel of oil is almost $98. So do you think there will ever be a end to this. Are you thinking we will see gas at $4. per gallon or do you think that it might stop before that.
Does any one use biofuel if so what can you tell us about it. Or how about the E85 fuel.

Reconstruction of the Highway 151 Bypass east of Highway 41 is expected to wrap up this week.
Contractors will remove and repair the shoulders on the bridge approach east of Martin Road today and Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday the project will be cleaned up and all lanes will be open to traffic, according to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The $297,000 project — the subject of much criticism locally — eliminates cross traffic on the Bypass at Martin Road, County Trunk V, Rienzi Road and County Trunk T. Work began in early September.
Work included creating left turn lanes along the Bypass. Turns are now limited to right or left turns from the Bypass onto intersecting roads and right turn only onto the Bypass from intersecting roads.
Highway 151 Bypass, west of Highway 41
Bridge work over the Fond du Lac River continues this week on the portion of the Highway 151 Bypass west of Highway 41.
The three-mile, $13.2 million project is scheduled to be completed — resulting in completion of the 151 Bypass — in October 2008.
The project includes paving the Bypass between County Trunk D and Highway 175 and construction of seven structures over waterways and roads. Grading was completed in August.
In addition to bridge work at the Fond du Lac River, crews this week will work on decking at River Road.
Reinhardt Road bridge
Work also continues on reconstruction of the bridge over de Neveu Creek on Reinhardt Road in the town of Empire.
The $280,000 project began Sept. 10 and is expected to be completed later this month.
The road is closed to through traffic from County Trunk V to County Trunk K during construction.
The project involves grading, new foundation and surface, steel plate beam guard and the new bridge.
