I haven't always been a fan of John McCain. When he went to kiss the backside of the late Jerry Falwell and his ilk, I was especially annoyed. He is, however, a man who is sure of his principles and his desire to make the USA a better place for Americans.

GW Bush has destroyed the Republican party, it's ideals and standards. He's made a mockery of independence, sustainibility and management. He's appointed people to positions of power and authority who had no right to be there. (uh....can anyone say Don Rumsfeld...? Paul Wolfowitz....? ) He's destroyed the economy with greed, corruption and power brokering. He's allowed his cronies at Haliburton to rape the American taxpayers with billions of dollars of profit with no bid contracts in Irag. The average taxpayer can barely afford gas to get to our jobs, if you still have one, that is.

McCain will bring back national pride, independence and integrity. Sarah Palin will do a fine job beside him. I think Barack Obama has some good ideas and he can surely talk a good game, but he has no experience in management, making tough decisions or creating a plan to acheive his future goals. McCain has proven himself with 22 years of experience in the Senate, and his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate proves that he's out to make a difference. Obama's selection of one of the most inside 'insiders', Joe Biden, proved that he has no inclination to change things.

If you don't agree, that's fine. But, make your choice be known and VOTE in November. It's the only way we'll find out what the American public truly thinks of the candidates.

I would have to agree with you that Jon McCain is the most experienced, thats obvious with the 22 years on the senate. But I think that we wont see much change, if any at all if he is elected. It has been pushed and pushed that McCain is going to finish out our "Freedom War" which will take how many years, and how many billions of tax payers dollars. The war cant keep going on because as soon as we leave it will go back to what it was before so why bother. The United States has far more needs right not, we have to get our economy back on its feet. Will Obama do that, we will not honestly know unless he wins. Sarah Palin's history shows she knows how to get money, what is it a couple hundred million for a town of 8,000 people, thats impressive, but i dont think she even knows what she got into yet. Joe Biden, well i dont think he has a handle on things either, I thought that the vice presidents have been chosen prematurely and with little thought. But I will put my vote in november you can count on that.

I agree with you on the 'Freedom War'. It's bothersome and troubling, but I also feel that we don't hear the full scope of the surrounding comments that McCain makes about it. He DID state that he has no issue with American forces being in Iraq for the next 100 yrs, what wasn't reported that he added the words, 'as long as they're not engaged in combat'. Unfortunately, the 'news' organizations left that part out.
All I know, is that an American, I'm tired of being humiliated, despised, used and abused and broke, and getting broker by the day. I'm tired of the Wall Street slickers that cheat us out of our investment money, the implicit government approval and the increasing disdain of capitalism toward the workers.
We definitely need to vote! Thanks for your assurance of being a good citizen and exercising your right.

MrsObvious, do you honestly believe that American forces being in Iraq will not lead to them engaging in combat? Be realistic here! Do you remember the people that we are dealing with over there? Suicide bombers, car bombs every time you turn around! Do you think that their intent is to end this peacefully? You need to wake up and smell the coffee. I do agree with you on some things. I also am tired of the latter! I will definitely be there on election day.

Hi Wisconsingirl 1979...in answer to your question, no I do not believe our presence will 'peaceful' I do know the people in that region of the world have been arguing and fighting since the beginning of time. I don't feel I stated my point clearly enough, which was to simply point out that the 'media' give half reports, partial truths and we all know they have their own spin. I know as long as we remain in the Middle East, we're asking for it.
On a happy note, I'm glad you'll exercise your right to vote. That's about the only way we have left to show our displeasure.

How will this country stand another few years like this if McCain wins? If our economy keeps going like this and McCain puts his plans into action, we will need almost two homeless shelters in area where we have none. As fara as the war, why are we still there? We are not fighting Iraqi's. We are fighting people from the surrounding countries. They are using Iraq because that is where the American troops are. I have respect for McCain in his own beliefs, but it is very obvious that he has no clue. Start talking to the soldiers. It is not the commanders out there fighting, and if they don't say what they are told to say they are either reduced in rank or put elsewhere. Talk to the ladies and guys doing the fighting. There have been some commanders there that have never left their comfort zones and when the soldiers try to tell them their experience, they shut them up. McCain saya he would not let a soldier die in vain? Then wake the hell up!!!

Did we all forget that McCain was right behind Rumsfeld in his decisions. Has anybody read the 911 commissioner that came out to the public?

John McCain's picked the wrong running mate! Palin is all about big oil and definitely not in favor of the environment. She favors opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas development and she and her family gets one of its paychecks from the oil industry. She questioned John’s plan to impose a windfall profits tax on oil companies to provide a taxpayer rebate, saying, Such taxes prevent oil companies from investing more in domestic production. Palin opposes the Bush administration's decision to list polar bears as a endangered species under the Endangered Species Act, and even stood with Alaska when they sued Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne earlier this month to try to overthrow his decision. Palin argues there isn't enough evidence to support a listing, and she worries it will harm oil and gas development in prime polar bear habitat off Alaska's northern and northwestern coasts.
The Legislature is investigating her dismissal of the state public safety commissioner. A legislative oversight committee wants to know if the commissioner was dismissed because he refused to fire a trooper who went through a messy divorce from her sister. “Campaign contributions Palin collected earlier in her political career could also provide fodder for Democratic campaign ads, tying her to an Alaska Republican political scandal from which she has tried to distance herself” “Palin raised at least $4,500 for her unsuccessful 2002 campaign for lieutenant governor from executives of VECO Corp., an oil services contractor at the heart of a massive influence-peddling investigat

Hello ThirdCalvaryWife...
I don't know what the answer is. I don't know the entire facts of what is going on in Iraq. I only know that we can't keep going the way we are going. I know we're becoming more and more poverty stricken as jobs leave this country. I know we're starting to suffer from our loss of income and independence. Is withdrawing from the rest of the world an answer?...honey...I don't know.
I feel Palin has something to bring to the table that alot of other candidates don't have. She has kids. She has responsibilities, that I hope the rest of us have labored through. I don't know, I only know that I'm as befuddled as the rest of the country who, unfortunately and I count myself among them, has relied on Congress, our own elected officials to defend us, protect us, and enrich us. I feel foolish as I look at Congress today and see most of them living off of us, the working class. I'm frustrated....

Who really is raising Palin's children? I am a mother of two young children and I find it hard to believe that she is there for them as a mother should be when they need her. I work full time and miss out on a lot with my children. How can she be governor and still get the duties done that mother's should be doing? We may have struggled as common people, but I could bet on the fact that Palin or any other politician can see through our eyes. McCain and her running our country scares me to death! I know I have heard words from their own mouths that send chills down my spine. McCain seems so militarian. He seems like he would be one that would like total control, not democracy. People, you think GW's patriot law is bad? I could see McCain expanding on that and making things a lot worse. Just call my feelings "a gut feeling" and I may be wrong, but I get a really sick feeling about the two of them being in control of our country. By the way, my gut feelings are usually so accurate it scares me.

Palin needs to go back to being a Soccer Mom, ,what experience does she have, absolutely none.Looks wont cut it!!McCain lives on his war record, otherwise he is a shadowing image of George Bush and his corrupt policy making decisions.I thank him for serving for our country, but alot of our boys did, especially the dead ones. But like Forrest Gump says,"STUPID IS THAT STUPID DOES.We cannot afford any Bush thinking.NONE
Id rather have inexpereince than corrupt expereince, some of the best Sales people are the new ones, why, because they are not intrenched with the idea of IT CANT BE DONE THAT WAY.
We are in serious financial ruin and needless to say,Mr.Bush has made alot of foreign countries, hate us.Im afraid that McCain lacks the right characters needed to flex with our neighbors. Iraq will,in the near future will become heathly and wealthy, just like Kaiwait, and oil will make it that way, then we will leave with our own empty oil can as they wave goodbye.
We need to take care of us,Me and you folks, right here in america.

I agree with mulligan4bob. I would rather have someone who hasn't been tainted yet with power. And why can't the Iraqi people defend there own country yet? How long have we been there? Who defends our country? Who stands up for our rights? WE DO. As long as we are there doing the dirty work, why should they stand up for themselves? We are enabling them. It's time we take off the training wheels. And just a thought here, has it crossed anyones mind that the only reason Palin was chosen for V.P. is so the rep. have someone to blame if they lose? I think it's kind of funny she comes out of the blue. She's pretty,so that takes care of the shallow males, she's a woman, so that takes care of the shallow women, and if they lose, it's because this was her first time running. If he wanted a woman, why not one with more expirience? Not sure about it all, but I will be voting.

Not much to tell. Married. Worried about the economy. Think all the local politicians are on the take and looking to make as much as they can and then quickly retire.
