This is my take on Packer fans: are we the biggest bunch of whiners in the NFL? Come on now, seriously folks, do we need to produce more cheese for all of our whine? This entire Brett Favre saga has had me really thinking, and if I were an outsider looking in, I would have to concure with my own evaluation so far. Dump Ted, bring Favre back, the fans own the team...blah blah blah!! First of all, the fans, the city, the shareholders, none of them own the team, PERIOD. Yes, the Packers may be a team that has now owner, but if you think for two seconds that as a fan or resident of the city of GB you have even a small say in what happens with the Packers regarding football operations........think again!! Even someone who has multiple shares of this team has no say, sure they can go to sharholder meetings and feel important, but next time your at a shareholders meeting, try telling the organization to make a trade for another player you like better. If they dont laugh at you then, they sure as hell wil be once they are alone. Does anyone who is NOT wearing the rose-colored Brett FAvre glasses remember March 3, 2008? Anyone? Wait a second, that was the day Brett Favre retired, my bad. How about te reports that he wanted to come back a few weeks later and at the 11th hour re-retired. What on earth does this oraganization owe him now? Is he not a millionaire and a stud superstar because of the GB Packers? Is his family not completely taken care of for generations to come? What do we owe him? I say Nothing!!! Sure I bleed green and gold and loved Brett Favre, but I am also an educated man with my head on straight. he retired, not once, but twice. Has he filed his paperwork yet to return? Whoops, sorry, no again. Why not? He says he is 100% committed, so why not just file the papers and say look, Im in it to win it, lets play some football Ted and Mike!! You want to know how fast he would be back in GB if that were the case? Tomorrow!! I think we all need to take a step back and think.......15 years ago had this been a GM by an other name, we would have named a street after him after last season, along with talent he has assembled on the field, today, we want to hang with with a short rope on a tall tree. Are you kidding me? Yes, Favre had a fantastic year last year, but is that a guarantee he will have an equally impressive season this year? I just think we are showing the world that we are nothing but idiots and come football season, this will remain a huge distraction, but not to the team or the players on the team, but to the fans, the ones who will find fault in every teensie-weensie little mistake this year that Rodgers makes, and again we will be laughing stocks to the world when you idiots start chanting.......bring Brett Back, Bring Brett Back, Bring Brett Back.

Ok, your comment "why not just file the papers and say look, Im in it to win, lets play some football Ted and Mike...You want to know how fast he would be back in GB if that were the case? Tomorrow!!
These are your exact words....Um, what did you miss. Brett is willing to fill out the paperwork, he did go back saying he was in it 100% and they told him he would have to be a benchwarmer. Then you talked about a great year last year. Brett has had impressive years for the last 16 years. I dont get what you are saying. He has had some rough games, not every play worked out his way and even had some fupa's....well, so did I in my sports days...no human can be perfect all of the time. The bottom line is what he accomplished in his entire career while with the Pack, and now Ted and Mike are saying, You can come back but you will be mearly taking Aarons place from last year???? Huh? How could that be?
We look like idiots because we are not chosing Brett over the rookie. We are looking like idiots because they would love to get their hands on Brett and cant believe we would turn down the diamond over the cubic zirconia, know what I mean? Fans are not the idiots for chanting Brett, the fans know how close we got to the Superbowl last year and they know the odds this year if we stick with Aaron. This is where the laughing stock comes in. I am not judging Aaron, but I do know this...he is subject to injury and he doesnt take it nearly as well as Brett....playing with a broken thumb, why? Because he loves the game and is committed. The solution IS idiot proof.

Oh, so Brett is the almightly for playing with a broken thumb, but Aaron Rodgers is injury prone because he played with a broken foot? You are contradicting yourself with that comment. Do not get me wrong, I love Brett Favre and will always be a fan of his, but football is a business. Don't you hear players saying that all the time when leave a team that they have been with for years, simply to make a few more million dollars? In this business, sometimes tough decision have to be made and I applaud Ted for making the tough decision. Yes, I stand by my words, if Brett would ve done that in the first place, (file the papers) I would guarantee he would find himself in the starting spot, no doubt, because then the Packers would KNOW he was committed and serious!! Just in case you have more questions, check out the interview done by LeRoy Butler, he was asked about 'competing' for a staring spot and said, if I had to, I would have and I am confident enough to know I would win my spot. So, what is Brett afraid of with a little competition? If indeed he is our best option and then he should ahve problem beating out Mr. 'Injury Prone' Rodgers as you call him.

Brett has never insinuated that he was in it for the money. And he has shown that. This is the guy who was willing to give up a portion of his own salary to bring aboard a player who was Superbowl material. You are right when you say this is a business, had Brett signed, been inducted, and made it a "done" deal that he was retired I could understand and even agree with what it is you are saying. Bottom line is that the window was still open. I even understand that Ted wants to move on. But not this way, not with what is on the table. It needs to be dealt with , with respect because Brett is a great football player and because he is more Packer blooded than anyone. He was born , raised, and tentatively retired there. He shouldnt be handled in this way. That is my point. As far as LeRoy Butler....it's another "personal opinion" that makes the picture BIGGER than it needs to be.

All I can say is "Ignorance is bliss" Don't expect a team to revamp everything just because one person can't figure out what he wants!!!!!!!! Let Rodgers have a chance. I feel bad that he is getting his name dragged through the mud. By the way, isn't a rookie someone brand new to the game????? Pretty sure he's been a Packer for a few years now.

You go 'wisconsingirl'..........finally, someone who has some common sense about the whole subject! Of course its a woman too; you guys could learn something from this woman. Yes, a rookie is new, but its so easy for these people to say the word 'rookie' because he has never started a game yet, its just word-play to them. And they cannot sit around and wait for him to make up his mind, they moved on, he lost out, enough said. Thanks for a great response
