I never thought I'd be blogging, but if the right eyes see this, MAYBE they will really "DO the RIGHT thing" concerning Brett Favre and the present state of the Green Bay Packers.  The reality of the situation is that if I heard correctly, if Brett "Officially" comes out of retirement, he has 3 years left on his contract (correct me if i'm wrong).  During this offseason he may have been "retired".  But if you really think about it, Brett Favre has not missed Training Camp (Yet), and he also has not missed 1 Game since the previous season ended.  So technically, If Favre was Re-Instated by the NFL before Pre-season and/or Training Camp, It's as if he NEVER left in the 1st place.

Now when you look at it this way, you think about it being the same as if he never retired.  He had what appeared to be one of his greatest seasons on record.  He is the "Ironman" of the NFL.  It all speaks for itself.  A question that is raised in alot of minds is, if Brett wouldn't have been pushed into a split decision, and it was "business as usual" for the management of the Packers, does anyone really think Favre being starter would ever be in question?  By not playing Favre as starter, regardless of the retirement word having happened, not only is it a slap in the face to Brett Favre and his Legacy, but a slap in the face of the Fans (who pay out the nose and pay "Management's wages"), the Packer Organization and it's Tradition and History, The reputation of the City of Green Bay and State of Wisconsin, The NFL, and the Entire Nation.  According to some National Polls I have seen as well as more local ones, the Majority has spoken.  Brett Favre should still be the Starting QB, no questions asked.  Brett has earned it.  It's not like he took a year off, then tried to return.

I have nothing bad to say about Aaron Rodgers.  The facts are, he is our "Future".  On the other hand, Brett Favre is our "Present".  Now for 2 years straight, Aaron played a partial game, and was done due to injury.  Brett hasn't missed one game to this day (unless Management sees it differently).  So that is yet to be seen.  Whatever time Brett has left to play will give Aaron time to grow, and be humbled at the same time.  Aaron is talented, but for the most part needs a bit more time.  He will be the one to take over when that time comes, but that time isn't quite yet.

Green Bay was on the verge of a Super Bowl last season, and with Favre at the helm, most would predict Green Bay will be in the Super Bowl this year.  Even Aaron wouldn't complain, because he knows patience will reap its rewards.

As for Ted Thompson, he needs to be totally truthful, and really think hard, before it's too late.  If he uses this idea, could mean good things.  If he stays his current course, it could be possible the people will have had enough, and the board of directors may "move on" from the man who could have possibly tarnished the Green Bay Packer's image and the career of possibly the Greatest Quarterback in NFL, so hopefully Ted Thompson doesn't do the "Ted Thompson Plan" and instead Actually does "The Right Thing" (The Common Sense Approach).  While Ted is at it, maybe he can work on mending fences with Brett, while Brett never says he's retiring until he's 100 percent certain next time and finish out this 3 yrs on the contract.  By then, he'll probably retire, and Aaron will be totally ready and stay healthy and then be our "Future".  Brett Favre is our "Here and Now".  There are no re-takes, so cherish having Brett while he is still here.  That way the Green Bay Packers will never have any regrets or a forever tarnished image.  Let Brett Favre write the final chapter in his career, his legacy.  No one else should determine it for him.

Thanks for listening, and maybe, just maybe, people will think common sense.  If it all came down to competing in Training Camp and Preseason, fair is fair..that's the other option.
