Game two of the Aaron Rodgers era wasn't quite as promising as game one, but let's not go overboard on critisizm.  There is plenty to go around in this one, so one player shouldn't be to spotlighted.

Rodgers didn't have a great game, but did keep his composure.  He held the ball a little too long at times, and didn't get enough time to throw in others.  He had receivers drop passes again (Is he throwing a ball that is difficult to catch?  Bubba Franks doesn't play for the Packers any more, but the drops are getting worse...) and also had some timing trouble with his receivers that has to improve in a couple of games when the action counts for real.

So what did we learn from the game against the Niners?  A few things:

    1.  The interior offensive line problems are far from solved.  The moving of the players from side to side is little more than trying to straighten the chairs on the deck of the Titanic.

    2. Jarrett Bush- great guy, not so good at football. Tough night for him in San Francisco, and he may have played his way off the team.

    3. How about Jordy Nelson in the return game!?  And people were worried when Koren Robison was not re-signed.

   4. Rodgers didn't play well, but if he gets hurt, Heaven help the Packers.  Neither back-up has looked good yet.

Hopefully some of the problems are just typical preseason stumbles.  The starting defense looked good except for one play, and we haven't seen the running game yet, so there are still some things to look forward to.

So are you worried?  Sound off here!

Worried ????? Yup....looks like we have taken a few steps back to the 80's. There may be a bomb in the near future....the bomb I speak of it the figure of speech meaning..."blows up in their faces" They dont have any glue...that takes time to cure. Hope it's worth it. As if we all didnt look like a bunch of BLEEP with just the trade of Brett. Man, I hate to see how stupid we look if we continue on this way for the next 20 years.

This will be the Thompson / McCarthy legacy.... I am sick to see it, but we have returned to the stone age of thge 80;s. I can not wait until they are gone. It starts with "line men are a dime a dozen" said by Thompson about Riveria and Whale. It is exemplified in the "We don't need a MVP at QB attitiude shown in the Favre mess. McCarthy look dazed and confused in San Francisco, he has no clue how to fix this mess, he's in way over his head.... Pad level, after a butt kicking like that, the best you can come up with is" pad level!"... give us a break Mike... I say there will be more of this type of play to come, starting with Denver on Friday, If I am proven wrong, I'll be right here to post that I was mistaken, which is more that we can ever expect from The 3 stooges in Packer management.

DREW,
I HAVE A SOLUTION TO YOUR POINT NUMBER 4. SHIP ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT QUARTERBACKS WHO WANTED TO COME BACK AND PLAY FOR THE PACKERS, TO ANOTHER NFL TEAM AND KEEP A QUARTERBACK WHO HAS NEVER STARTED AN NFL REGULAR SEASON GAME. OH YEAH, AND ALSO HAVE 2 ROOKIE QUARTERBACKS AS BACKUPS.

SIGNED,
PACKERS MANAGEMENT.

Hey Drew/Johnny... Wow, that last post sure lit a fire under you guys! I wish something(anything)would get some of the current players to take things that personal.... seems like just another job to a lot of them.

Johnny, I certianly didn't mean anything against you personally, you are one of my favorites from that era.

Yeah, I'm worried! But this is pre-season and hopefully some of these things will get worked out in the next couple games. I think it will take a while for fans to get used to seeing Rodgers behind center, his style is drastically different than Favre's. Also Rodgers's was not to blame for all the errors, he did make some mistakes like Drew pointed out,but he's going to. He needs experience more than anything else. I'm a big Favre fan but how Brett is doing at N.Y. has nothing to do with Packer's football anymore(although I did enjoy watching the 1st quarter of the Jets game). Of course I still think the Packer's management are nuts for letting Favre go, but....here we are. Let's hope Rodgers and the rest of the team can improve and have a good season. I think the team has the talent to do well, now it's just a matter of executing properly at gametime.

It's all about execution and I can think of a few candidates from the Management team.....are you kidding me? From the NFC Championship game to it looks like it will take a miracle to win our division. And if our "moving forward" quarterback goes down, it's cellar dweller time--I hope I am completely wrong.......

Ok, I'm here as I said I'd be to post that I was wrong about the Denver game. Rodgers looked good, as did the team as a whole. Maybe I've been a bit hard on McCarthy, we'll know for sure at the season opener. But last night was a definite improvement
